RUGBY : Sportsbet.com.au is "rooting for the Wallabies"

Australian Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has pledged their support for the Wallabies ahead of their three Tests against the British and Irish Lions by painting a gigantic sign in a field adjacent to Melbourne Airport.

The painting, which sets two world records, is emblazoned with the words 'Rooting for the Wallabies', a hashtag #rootingforoz, and a picture of a Wallaby ‘cuddling’ a Lion…

The sign is in place now and is visible to passengers sitting on the left hand side of planes as they land in Melbourne. This includes players from both sides who will fly into Melbourne following the First Test in Brisbane this Saturday night.

Sportsbet.com.au's HaydnLane said: “What better way to get behind the Wallabies than to create a massive wallaby getting behind a lion?” Approximately one-million people will fly over the image in the next month.

World Record “largest painting” : The painting is 170m wide by 90m tall, or 15,030 square metres. The previous best is 11,965.7 square metres, achieved by the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports in Istanbul on 17 May 2013.

Size comparison : It is more than 1.5 times the size of a full Rugby pitch, including in-goal areas. The maximum size of a full Rugby pitch is 144 metres by 70 metres, or 10,080 square metres.
